THIS is genius. You've told a rather complicated story with very little. Sometimes people try to overdo a scene and put way more in it than they need to. You, however, kept this simple and it succeeds beautifully. I love that I can still see the raw human texture of the hand, and that the light from the candle is left alone to do what it does best: light up the night.
