Emeralds are a variety of the mineral beryl (Be3Al2(SiO3)6,) colored green by trace amounts of chromium and sometimes vanadium Beryl has a hardness of 7.5 - 8 on the 10 point Mohs scale of mineral hardness Most emeralds are highly included, so their brittleness (resistance to breakage) is classified as generally poor. The word "emerald" comes from Latin smaragdus, via Greek smaragdos, its original source being a Semitic word izmargad or the Sanskrit word, marakata, meaning "emerald" or "green".

I love the make-up design around the edges of her eyes, it really gives this photo a "defined, refined" feel and her eyes are so striking. The name and background of the emerald really fit this very well. I'm glad you did this, it's awesome. I love her lips and the angle that this was taken at.

I actually love the model :love:, the composition, the colours, and the image in a general way... but I'm not sure about the blurring =P

BTW, I think in Catalan our word for emerald is closer to the Sanskrit one: maragda :D

I believe it's better now. I think the problem is that the model is beautiful and I'd love to see all the details, just a straight picture of her.

Oh, wait... i think I've found it in the original stock. I'm happy now :D

And I definitely like your work. I think it's more subtle now.
